Carpet production in Isfahan, the ancient capital of Iran, prospered during the Safavid dynasty under King Abbas I, who loved art and architecture. Shah Abbas I relocated to Isfahan and gathered skilled carpet craftsmen from all over the world to make carpets for the court.
However, when the Safavid dynasty is destroyed by the invasion of Afghanistan, the production of carpets will also decline. Then, during the two World Wars, the Isfahan people reprinted the Safavid design and began making carpets again.
Since then, Isfahan has become an important producer in Iran's carpet industry. Even today, Isfahan rugs are most admired and loved by those who love Persian rugs.

Warp silk and pile are woven from the finest cork wool that is soft and glossy. It is silky, smooth and comfortable to the touch.

The weave density is very fine and the design is delicately expressed.
